Job description

As Ably enters its next stage of growth, we’re looking for talented and curious individuals to help us build and deliver the platform to power synchronized digital experiences in realtime for one billion devices every week by 2024.

 

Our everyday digital experiences are in the midst of a realtime revolution. Whether attending an event in a virtual venue, receiving realtime financial information, or monitoring live car performance data – consumers simply expect realtime digital experiences as standard. As such, synchronized data in realtime is now business critical for many organisations. Yet, at the same time, organizations don’t have the in-house capabilities nor the time to do this efficiently at scale. That’s where Ably comes in.

 

We provide a suite of APIs to build, extend, and deliver powerful digital experiences in realtime for more than 265 million devices across 80 countries each month. Organizations like Toyota, Bloomberg, HubSpot, and Hopin depend on Ably’s platform to offload the growing complexity of business-critical realtime data synchronization at global scale.

Requirements

We’re after a tenacious Global Head of Sales Development who is passionate about building and leading world class Sales Development Teams, setting strategies that consistently grow the top of the funnel, and partnering closely with the Account Executives.

 

Day to day, you will:
  • Recruit, onboard, retain and lead Sales Development teams and team leads

  • Coach, develop, and deliver structured training on best practice sales skills, product knowledge, and market dynamics to your team

  • Define and reinforce strategic and tactical objectives for the global organization

  • Build and execute processes, workflows, performance metrics & pipeline forecasting

  • Enable and motivate your team to meet and exceed targets and objectives

  • Closely work with Marketing to run and measure inbound and outbound campaigns

 
It would be great if you have:
  • Significant experience building, running and scaling successful Sales Development organisations at early stage SaaS technology scale-up companies

  • Solid experience of own SDR experience with a skillset to enable, train, and support a growing team to perform at world-class levels.

  • Strong understanding of outbound pipeline generation processes

  • Strong understanding of inbound lead qualification process

  • Knowledge and applied experience of using MEDDICC

  • Experience with prospecting software (e.g. Outreach, SalesLoft), call audit software (e.g. Jimminy), data enrichment (e.g. ZoomInfo)

  • Analytical & comfortable generating reports and identifying trends in data

  • Experience with developing SDRs to get promoted into field sales roles

 
It would be nice if you have:
  • Knowledge of Ably domain

  • Experience working at companies with Freemium/OpenSource propositions as part of their GTM operations, preferably selling to tech teams (CTO, VP of Engineering, Developers)

  • Experience managing Inside Sales team

  • Experience using Hubspot
