We now live in a remote-first world where realtime digital interactions underpin our daily lives. In the near future, Autonomous Vehicles, IoT devices (e.g. connected fridges or environment sensors), and AI-powered experiences will be the norm. But new infrastructure is required to power it all.
The opportunity in front of us is immense. Our mission is to become the definitive realtime infrastructure of the internet while powering and accelerating adoption of realtime user experiences. We’re on track. Everyday we deliver billions of realtime messages to more than 200 million people in 80 different countries across web, mobile, and IoT platforms. But we can’t rest yet. In five years we want to reach one billion people everyday.
Working alongside our Marketing team you will be responsible for generating creative, considered, and on-brand design collateral for campaigns, technical guides, social media, internal document templates, customer representation, email and blog to name just a few. You will be helping to shape our visual language as we grow, feeding from – and contributing to – a centralized Design System where appropriate.
Designers that consider themselves to be ‘midweight’ are invited to apply, and we would expect to see a strong portfolio of work that spans both digital and print, and would be keen to hear how you contributed to the projects presented. A command of typographic finesse and layout rhythm will be looked for, along with the ability to communicate complex themes through simple design. Illustration skills would also be advantageous.
Be embedded in the Marketing team to assist in generating visual collateral and assets for a wide range of comms materials.
Be picking up tasks from a centralized project management platform.
Help to interpret, apply and extend our new branding/visual language.
Work efficiently and diligently to high standards whilst meeting deadlines.
Identify and troubleshoot UX problems when exploring Ably’s properties.
Take on feedback openly and allow others to contribute.
Solid design experience.
Proficient with Figma and Adobe Suite applications.
Strong attention to detail.
Confident when presenting/describing your work to others.
Enthusiasm for great design.
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter, ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
