Head of Sales - North America (Remote)

Location: Remote, mainly East Coast (Boston) based, as travel to our Boston hub will be required once a month for team planning and collaboration purposes.

Team & role

We're looking for an experienced sales leader to drive sales and build a team of dynamic sales professionals. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key leadership role in a fast growing company. We’re looking for an entrepreneurial individual who thrives on challenges and is looking for an opportunity to take their sales experience to the next level. 

What you'll be doing day to day:

  • Own the sales strategy and commercial execution for the North America geo

  • Communicate with clarity and precision regarding forecasts against your geo’s quarterly & yearly targets

  • Closely monitor and deliver new sales enablement materials with the support of the marketing team

  • Ensure proper use and hygiene of our HubSpot CRM system

  • Represent Ably as an executive sponsor in sales opportunities and occasionally as a speaker at relevant marketing events and conferences

  • Drive adoption & use of Challenger & MEDDICC for sales methodology & reporting/qualification, respectively

  • Recruit, hire, train, and develop your sales team

  • Assess and lead current team processes and procedures, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement them

  • Collaborate with team members and assess their individual performance through observation & measurement, adopting corrective actions as needed

  • Work closely with the Marketing team to drive demand generation strategies

  • Work closely with SDR and Solution Engineering teams


Desired skills & experience:

  • Solid knowledge & experience selling or managing sales in the realtime data, cloud, mobile, PaaS and/or infrastructure software ecosystems

  • Have solid enterprise management experience

  • Demonstrate data-driven, analytical approach to sales strategy with a passion for motivating teams & driving high performance

  • Possess a strong business acumen

  • Come with a strong track record of building a large book of business

  • Be comfortable delivering your best work in a fast paced, dynamic team environment

  • Have worked with prospects and customers across a multinational geography, with a strong preference for large markets

  • Have experience setting strategy & targets for enterprise sales teams

  • Be able to travel as required from time to time

  • Have a proven sales track record of delivering team sales quotas

  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships at all levels, internally and externally

  • Have strong negotiation, communication, organisational & presentation skills
